The Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that the estimate of U.S. retail e-commerce sales for the fourth quarter of xxxx, adjusted for seasonal variation, but not for price changes, was $59.5 billion, an increase of 4.4 percent (±2.8%) from the third quarter of xxxx. Total retail sales for the fourth quarter of xxxx were estimated at $1,106.8 billion, an increase of 1.4 percent (±0.4%) from the third quarter of xxxx. The fourth quarter xxxx e-commerce estimate increased 15.6
percent (±1.4%) from the fourth quarter of xxxx while total retail sales increased 4.0 percent (±0.5%) in the same period. E-commerce sales in the fourth quarter of xxxx accounted for 5.4 percent of total sales. On a not adjusted basis, the estimate of U.S. retail e-commerce sales for the fourth quarter of xxxx totaled $71.6 billion, an increase of 36.3 percent (±2.8%) from the third quarter of xxxx. The fourth quarter xxxx e-commerce estimate increased 15.8 percent (±1.4%) from the fourth quarter of xxxx while total retail sales increased 4.0 percent (±0.5%) in the same period. E-commerce sales in the fourth quarter of xxxx accounted for 6.2 percent of total sales. Total e-commerce sales for xxxx were estimated at $225.5 billion.
